About Me
-
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have worked in the mental health field for 30 years. I am bilingual, Spanish-speaking. I have a great passion for this work. Over the years I have worked with children, adults, and older adults—people living with chronic mental illness as well as people struggling with the challenges of everyday life. I have provided individual therapy, facilitated groups, and worked with couples, which has become my primary focus at California Couples Counseling.
Life is difficult in itself, and when depression, anxiety, stress, or relationship conflict show up, it can feel even harder. I believe we can accomplish a great deal when we become honest about what is working and what is not. With couples, I help partners slow down the pattern, listen to understand, and practice new ways of communicating, repairing, and rebuilding trust.
Many times, we lose our way because of multiple stressors, negative thoughts, fears, substance use, anger, frustration, or choices we wish we had made differently. The road of life has many turns and dead ends. I am here for you as a couple: to help you process what’s happening, learn new coping skills, and look at the relationship from a different perspective so you don’t have to do this alone. I provide steady emotional support and help you notice what may be affecting your life and your relationship.
Most of all, I will help you learn to accept yourself and one another despite what is weighing you down, you are worthy and capable, and your relationship can move forward with clarity and care.
